With the winter weather weve had for the past several years, its YOUR TRAIL GROOMINGa chore just keeping members, and even harder keeping good volunteers.PARTNER IN VERMONT At the annual meeting, I brought up the thought that, in light of the climate weve been dealing with, we should consider limited use of tracked ATVs on the trails during the regular snowmobile season. Limit the machine size to an ATV and see how this works out. After all, a snowmobile is a tracked machine that steers with skis. All the same rules would apply, as well as trail openings and closures. In our area, at least, it could bring back folks who have given up due to not being able to ride the machine theyve invested in. With the downward trend of snow, I think it is time we, VAST, take a hard look at the future.
