Huge 36 Months! 0% for Offer Expires January 31, 2018 Northeast Kingdom Snow Blasters It is T-minus 31 days to the opener, weather permitting, and Mother Nature seems to be cooperating with some snows and colder temps. We still have no winner of our “first snowfall of the year” contest, which requires four or more inches of snow measured in Norton, but we are sure it is coming soon. We could actually use an extended cold snap to freeze things up, as the woods are very wet. We are also still dealing with the damage caused by the wind storm a few weeks ago. We have logged in days of work with the chainsaws with many more to come. We got our drag back from Canada and it is sporting a new pan made with a heavier plate steel which we hope will be more durable. Now we need to replace all the cutters and skags, and the “Old Bully” will be ready to go. The to-do-list goes on as we continue to sign and stake your trails, put the finishing touches on two of our bridges, and prep our new Brousseau Mountain trail. That trail runs 2.7 miles from the new EX 8 on the power line, a bit north of EX 131, cuts across Brousseau Mountain Road, then heads up and around the top down to Jackson Road. We are very excited about this trail as it also offers some great views of the Averills from the top. We recently held a few events. Our annual snowmobile safety course was held at the Chez on Nov. 11. Huge thanks to Ed Cunningham for teaching. That evening, we also held our Hunters’ Supper which was a big success as well. Next time we chat, I hope to be grooming and I hope you are all riding and enjoying all that the NEK has to offer in the winter months. Daily weather and trail reports start Dec. 10 on our Facebook page. Bring it! Dec. 16 is fast approaching and we are prepping trails and the grooming equipment. Officer elections this fall resulted in a continuation of the same volunteer serving these roles. Once again your Directors are Craig Tinker, Bill Ormerod, Bob Maxon, Gary Zamuda, and Scott Hathaway. Officers are Secretary Nathan Howard, Treasurer Duane Leach, Vice President Tony Audet and President Mike Farmer. The best news we have this year is that TMAs will be for sale at the Fletcher General Store right after Thanksgiving. We are hosting a TMA Sale Day also at the Fletcher General Store Saturday, Dec. 9 with club members selling them.
